BIRTHDATE/AGE --- twenty-three/23 in looks, but much older in elfen years.

SEXUAL ORIENTATION --- Doesn't seem to be sexually interested in anyone. Asexual.
SPECIES --- Elf
OCCUPATION --- Training to become a wizard.
APPEARANCE ---

Kaim is tall and slender. He isn't especially muscled, but has a small amount of definition from working on menial tasks. He is tanned and has black hair that runs down to his mid back, with shorter layered strands closer to his face. As an elf, he has pointed ears; he keeps his unadorned. His skin is mainly unblemished, but for one blotchy burn mark that covers a portion of his right forearm. The burn came from a magical mishap.

He wears dark, simple clothing and normally goes barefoot. His feet are tough enough by now that he doesn't feel pain walking barefoot in the forests. He keeps a dagger in a scabbard at his hip. It's old and slightly nicked, but it was given to him by his uncle and he keeps it by him in case a problem arises with his still-developing magic skills.

PERSONALITY ---

Ever heard of "best to be seen and not heard"? Well, Kaim must not have. Brusque and impatient, he always speaks his mind. He can be sarcastic at times. He isn't a "soft" type of person, and it's very rare that he'll show any sort of sympathetic emotion. He isn't heartless, but he's closed himself off to others to the point where he doesn't even realize he's doing it.

His passion is magic. He's still learning to become a wizard, but he has a lot of talent. He prefers to rely on his magic rather than his less-than-satisfactory skill with a blade. He puts a lot of pressure on himself and works at things until he gets them right. Sometimes he works himself to exhaustion and needs to take several days' rest, which frustrates him.
He's suspicious of humans, but hasn't encountered many.

FAMILY AND HISTORY ---

Kaim has the appearance of a young male human, but he has lived for many decades. He is still considered young in elven terms, but he lives on his own in a small building attached to his wizard Master's house. He is apprenticed to this wizard, the third most powerful magic user in all of Finalu. Kaim began working for him when he was quite young, and at first started with drawing water from the well for his Master and doing other mindless chores, but by this point Kaim has become very skilled at magic. His mother sent him off to learn from the wizard after he magicked an apple into a pear when he was five (in human terms of age), showing his prowess in magic already at such a young age.

Kaim grew up close to his uncle, who always tried to train him in weaponry. A couple times a week his uncle would come by the wizard's house and train with Kaim. Kaim never grew adept in using a blade, but his uncle gave him his own favorite dagger as a gift before departing for a long journey. Kaim hasn't seen his uncle since, but he still keeps the dagger with him, though he rarely uses it.

A couple decades into his apprenticeship, Kaim had a magic-related accident that caused the burn on his forearm. He was experimenting with magicking fire while outside, and was distracted by a large bear lumbering up. He lost control of his magic and the fire flared up, burning him horribly and knocking him down. He was luckily able to fend off the bear before running back to town. His arm may have not been able to be saved were it not for the wizard's close friend, who was a skilled healer. The burn remains, but Kaim sees it as a reminder to keep striving to improve his magic and rise to wizard status.
