It’s strange how humanity seems to consider magic and science to be completely unconnected. How, magic is a thing of myths and legends, while science is truth and fact. They couldn’t be more wrong, of course. The two are woven together, both bound by the not always fully explainable laws of nature. In the last hundred years, this connection’s only become more obvious.
Before, magic users knew one simple fact: you were either born with magic, or some mysterious force bestowed it on you. This is no longer a fact. It started with a sorcerer doing experiments on magic to bring about perfection and that led to the creation of vampires. Then, a secret government project led to perfectly normal humans being ‘infected’ with magic. Another ambitious sorcerer created shifters.
Now, the world seems to be changing at an all to rapid pace. The magical society is at odds on how to handle these new additions. Sorcerers continue to experiment with their magic. More and more humans are becoming aware of what’s been hidden under their noses. All the while, folk are seeing these changes as an opportunity to evolve, to gain power, to change the world. In the crossfire, innocents are caught, their lives uprooted by forces seemingly beyond their control.
A storm is coming, so where will you stand? Will you be at the forefront of evolution? Will you fight to preserve the status quo? Or, will you just passively stand by and watch?
